Kieron Richardson has finished third in the Dancing On Ice 2010 final after losing out to Gary Lucy and Hayley Tamaddon in the first public vote.

The Hollyoaks star – described by Torvill and Dean as the “dark horse” of the contest – made it through to the final with skating partner Brianne Delcourt despite having been in the skate-off twice during the series.

However his luck finally ran out in a closely fought final which saw the remaining trio ‘flying’ on wires, as well as performing their favourite routine of the series.

“I’ve had the most amazing experience of my life,” Kieron said after the result was announced.

“You’ve all been amazing. Brianne is now a friend for life and I just hope I’ve done everyone at Hollyoaks proud, and my friends and family.”

Earlier in the evening Kieron had won praise from the judges for his flying routine, which kicked off the show.

“You delivered a very strong confident performance,” Robin Cousins told him. “You should be so proud of yourself tonight,” Emma Bunton added, “you are like a different person from the beginning of this show.”

Hayley Tamaddon and Gary Lucy will now battle it out for the series title by performing one final routine – their recreation of Torvill and Dean’s classic Bolero.
