It’s props week in Dancing On Ice 2011 – but with a place in the semi-final at stake, how will the remaining five contestants fare….?
Torvill and Dean opened the show with a sparky 50s inspired routine to Why Do Fools Fall In Love
This week’s show kicked off with Sam Attwater – performing with a trilby and a microphone as his props
The actor was criticised by Jason Gardiner for dropping his hat midway through the routine – leading Phillip Schofield to make a sly reference to his rumoured hair transplant
Johnson Beharry VC got to play with a straw boater and an umbrella during his routine
He performed while guest band The Overtones sang – and picked up plenty of praise for his smooth use of props
Laura Hamilton looked mean and moody as she whizzed about the ice sitting on a chair – and her routine also featured a cane
Jeff Brazier’s routine incorporated a table and office chairs – but it wasn’t too popular with Jason Gardiner
The notoriously catty judge said that the couple looked like “two toddlers being pathetic at a table” – which did not go down well
Finally it was the turn of Chloe Madeley, looking pretty in pink, to take to the ice
The TV presenter incorporated ballet moves into her routine which also feature a hula hoop and skipping rope – and ended up topping the judges’ scoreboard with 27 out of 30!
In the results show The Overtones had the chance to perform once again
That left Jeff in the skate-off once again, along with Sam, who was skating for survival for the first time this series
And after both had competed again, the judges voted unanimously to save Sam – leaving Jeff as the latest casualty of the ice
However he took defeat graciously, saying he had been pleased to get as far as he had in the contest. And just four remain now to battle it out for a place in the final…..
