The three finalists in Dancing On Ice 2010 have revealed the bizarre rituals which they and their skating partners carry out before each show.

Sunday’s final is set to be a battle of the soap stars as Emmerdale‘s Hayley Tamaddon, Hollyoaks‘ Kieron Richardson and former Bill star Gary Lucy compete to be crowned series champion.

And the trio have all admitted they have some odd pre-show quirks which they hope will bring them luck in the competition.

Kieron, who is partnered with Brianne Delcourt, said, “Brianne wears the same underwear every Sunday and she wore some nail varnish on show one.”

“She’s never taken it off, but it’s all chipped off – I told her not to put any more on just in case.”

He added that before every show, she also makes him “kiss the teddy and do three spins in a circle.”

Gary, who is partnered with last year’s professional winner Maria Filippov, admitted, “I’ve got a prayer card, given by my nan, sewn into my trousers every week, and Maria has lucky earrings, which she wears every year.”

And Hayley reads a passage from Rhonda Byrne’s best-selling novel The Secret before each show – and added that she and skating partner Daniel Whiston rely on breathing techniques to bring them luck, as well as an Italian meal every Saturday night prior to the show,

“Before we skate on, he wraps his arms around me and we do a deep breathing technique three times, then two kisses on either cheek and then we skate on,” the Emmerdale actress said.

“We also have the same meal at the same place every Saturday night – we start with salad and garlic bread with cheese, then a bottle of red wine.”

Hayley is the bookies’ favourite to win the final, which kicks off at 1945 on Sunday night.
