Torvill and Dean will go head-to-head in a Christmas special of Dancing On Ice with a host of skating celebrities.

They will each lead a team of former Dancing on Ice stars including Suzanne Shaw and Chris Fountain.

Presented by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, the 90-minute special will be judged jointly by Dancing on Ice’s Robin Cousins, Ruthie Henshall, Jason Gardiner, Nicky Slater and Karen Barber, along with the studio audience.

Christopher Dean will lead Chris Fountain, Duncan James and Kyran Bracken and their professional partners while Jayne Torvill will mentor Clare Buckfield, Suzanne Shaw and Zaraah Abrahams.

Jayne, who won a gold medal with Christopher at the Olympic games in 1984, said: “Having worked so closely with Chris all these years it will be really interesting to see how competitive we become when we are training opposing teams.”

Christopher added: “It will be great to be reunited with former Dancing on Ice stars and this will be a first for me and Jayne – we are used to competing but not against each other.”

The one-off Christmas special will also feature live music performances and Christmas themed dances from Torvill and Dean with a team of skating professionals.
