The line-up of celebrities who will take part in the 2011 series of Dancing On Ice has been revealed, according to several of the Sunday papers.
Both Mail Online and the News Of The World report that troubled reality TV star Kerry Katona, Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe, ex-Coronation Street star Denise Welch and TV presenter Chloe Madeley – daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan – are among the females who will take to the rink.
The ladies’ line-up also features model Elen Rivas – ex-girlfriend of footballer Frank Lampard – actress and TV presenter Nadia Sawalha, children’s TV host Laura Hamilton and veteran newsreader Angela Rippon – who was a guest judge on the 2010 series of the show.
Among the men competing for skating glory are former Corrie star Steven Arnold – whose character Ashley Peacock was killed in the recent tram disaster – ex-Neighbours actor Craig McLachlan, TV presenter Jeff Brazier and ex-EastEnders actor Sam Attwater, who played Leon in the soap.
Completing the line-up are cricketer Dominic Cork, 90s rapper Vanilla Ice, Victoria Cross hero Lance Corporal Johnson Beharry, and Chris Moyles’ Radio 1 sidekick Dave Vitty – aka ‘Comedy Dave’.
The papers are also reporting that the stars involved are receiving very different salaries for appearing on the show.
Kerry is top of the pay league, earning £60,000 for taking part, while Denise and Steven are just behind her on £50,000 each.
“Kerry and Denise are our best signings for a long time,” a source told the paper. “They are brilliant, outspoken characters. But Dancing On Ice is a huge commitment and Kerry, Denise and Steven all wanted top money.”
The majority of the stars will earn £40,000 each although lesser known names including Laura, Sam and Dave are believed to be on just £20,000.
The series begins on ITV1 on January 9.
