Dancing On Ice contender Sam Attwater has been put on painkillers after injuring himself during rehearsals days before the final.
The ex-EastEnders actor was doing a double lift as part of an elaborate routine with two other skaters when he went crashing onto the ice.
He said: “I was doing a lift where I’m lifting two girls and then I just went and the way I landed I tried to save both the girls and went down and sprained my ribs and got a blade across my knuckles.
“It’s probably the biggest fall I had. It does shake you up because you’ve got another three hours training after that”.
Sam will battle it out with presenters Chloe Madeley and Laura Hamilton in Sunday’s final of the ITV1 show.
Nickelodeon presenter Laura said all three of them had injuries, but they would not hold back in their routines this weekend.
She said: “When it comes to the live show the adrenalin just kicks in.”
The star also has a lucky charm – a Canadian dollar which her dance partner, Colin Ratushniak, carries around with him.
Chloe, whose parents are TV duo Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, admitted she might be the underdog in the final, but said she was just glad to get there.
She said: “It feels amazing and it’s a huge validation for all the hard work and injuries.”
