James Corden has started filming scenes for his second guest appearance in the sci-fi series Doctor Who.
The short clip, filmed in the House of Fraser department store in Cardiff, shows the current Doctor Matt Smith frantically talking to James who is carrying a baby.
James will be reprising his role as Craig Owen from last year’s episode of The Lodger, which saw him get together with co-worker and flatmate Sophie (Daisy Haggard).
The fact that James is shown holding a baby leads to speculation that the couple’s relationship has lasted and the pair have become parents.
Speaking about returning to Doctor Who, James said he was delighted the show’s writer Steven Moffat invited him back.
“I’m amazed and over the moon. There was a fans’ poll of the last series and The Lodger did really well.
“I’m just going back for the one episode.”
James also told how he was desperate to get into the TARDIS but remained tight-lipped on whether he would get to fulfil that dream in the next series.
And asked whether there would be future appearances on the show, he said: “That’s not up to me, I couldn’t possibly say.”
