Former Doctor Who star Tom Baker lands Star Wars role

Tom Baker may be swapping the Tardis for the Millennium Falcon.

The Doctor Who star has let slip that he has a role in an upcoming Star Wars project.

Tom, 81, was signing fans’ memorabilia during the Day of the Doctor convention in Slough, when he revealed his latest venture according to Sci-Fi Fantasy Network.

He said: “I’m going to be in this new Star Wars thing, you know? I’m going down to record some voices for this new character they’ve created for me, very soon.”

Fans are now trying to guess just which Star Wars project he is involved in.

It could be Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII, cartoon Star Wars: Rebels or the first Star Wars spin-off film, Rogue One, which are all in production.

But Disney has just announced Jurassic World’s Colin Trevorrow will direct Episode IX and there is still time for Tom to voice a part in Episode VII: The Force Awakens, which does not open in cinemas until December.
