Michelle Dockery has revealed that she will stay on Downton Abbey ’till the end’.

The 32-year-old, who has received Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for her portrayal of Lady Mary Crawley in ITV’s period drama, said she has no intention of following in the footsteps of former co-stars Dan Stevens and Jessica Brown Findlay and leaving Downton.

“It amuses me more than anything, because it’s all speculation, and I think it’s down to fact the show has such a popularity,” she told the Hollywood Reporter. “But no, I’m here till the end, whenever that may be.”

Michelle – who has been on Downton Abbey since it began in 2010 – has been on set in Hampshire filming the show’s fifth series alongside her co-stars including Dame Maggie Smith, Allen Leech, Laura Carmichael, Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern and Rob James Collier.

Sue Johnston, Richard E Grant and Anna Chancellor will join the fifth series of Downton, which will begin screening on ITV in September.
