P Diddy has sparked a Twitter frenzy after he claimed he’d be appearing in Downton Abbey.
The rapper said he’d be starring in the hit period show’s next season.
“MY BIG NEWS: So happy to announce that I’m a series regular on DOWNTON ABBEY – my favourite show + I’ll be debuting a sneak peek tonight 12am PST!,” he said.
He later caused more speculation when he tweeted pictures of himself in costume on what looked like the ITV drama.
When Carrie Johnson, a spokeswoman for PBS, which broadcasts the British drama in the US, was quoted as saying “It’s not true”, fans began to question whether Diddy’s Twitter account @iamdiddy, which is followed by 8.7 million fans, was hacked after the Downton Abbey logo was added as the avatar and background on the account.
But the rapper later posted a spoof video of himself on Downton Abbey, starring Hugh Bonneville, in what was simply a Funny Or Die Video. WARNING: Contains swearing.
