Out of his coma, Jack wants to know why he’s in hospital.
After waking up, Jack’s first visitors are Dot and Jim. When Jack demands to know what’s happened, Dot reveals that he’s paralysed and may never recover. Angry, Jack tells them to leave and to keep the rest of his family away…
With Jack refusing to speak to anyone, Dot goes to see his on/off lover Ronnie…
Dot tries to convince Ronnie to visit Jack, convinced that he will want to see her.
Ronnie gets to the hospital to find Jack doesn’t want to see her. When she makes an excuse that she needs to talk to him about the club, he allows her into his room…
But after Jack accuses Ronnie of taking over the club, the pair end up rowing. Eventually, they agree that she should help run the business. But, as she goes to plump his pillows, she realises Jack has wet the bed! Humiliated, he tells her to leave.
When Ronnie decides to reopen the club, only a few people turn up. One of them is Dr Steele who’s come to apologise for making a pass at her during her visit to the hospital. Initially, Ronnie is not interested, but he soon puts a smile on her face…
While Ronnie is having a good time with the doctor, she misses a phone call from Jack. Is this the beginning of a new romance for Ronnie? And where will that leave Jack? Find out in EastEnders on BBC1 from Monday, April 12.
