EastEnders star Cheryl Fergison has said that her character’s on-screen labour was tougher than giving birth in real life.
The 45-year-old told Inside Soap: “It was harder going into labour on screen that it was giving birth to my own son!
“In true EastEnders style they gave me a 16-page monologue to learn. The writers obviously didn’t realise you don’t speak very much when you’re giving birth!”
Fans of the soap have been trying to guess who the father is with possibilities including Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), Minty Peterson (Cliff Parisi), Ricky Butcher (Sid Owen), Darren Miller (Charlie G Hawkins) and Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick).
Cheryl said: “If I had a pound for every person who’s asked me who the father of the baby is, I’d have a lovely house in Majorca.”
Viewers can see Heather’s labour in EastEnders on Tuesday October 20.
