Speculation is rife over the latest possible addition to the EastEnders cast, and it’s all thanks to former star Michelle Collins.
Speaking on ITV1 chat show Loose Women, the actress dismissed plans to return to the show, but revealed her on-screen daughter, whom her character Cindy died while giving birth to, could make an appearance in Albert Square.
She said: “One of the girls in my daughter’s class was up for the part of my child in EastEnders.”
A spokesman for the soap refused to comment, but an insider let slip: “Cindy died in prison during child birth but everybody’s forgotten about her daughter. It’ll be interesting to see how Ian, Jane and the kids cope with the revelation.”
Michelle played down rumours of a return to Albert Square for Cindy despite recent reports that Cindy would be sending text messages from beyond the grave to her ex-husband Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and eldest daughter Lucy (Melissa Suffield).
She told the other panellists on Loose Women that she would ‘never say never’ regarding going back to the soap, but insisted it wasn’t in her current plans.
Michelle is just about to start filming her new series, Rock Rivals, co-starring former Corrie actor Sean Gallagher.
The drama, featuring TV talent show judges, will hit our screens next year.
