Losing the Queen Vic is not the end of the road for Kat and Alfie Moon, according to the man in charge of EastEnders.
Viewers will see the pair replaced behind the bar of the boozer by new landlords, Mick and Linda Carter, played by Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright, along with their on-screen children Johnny (Sam Strike) and Nancy (Maddy Hill).
EastEnders’ executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said: “With the Carters we love them and we needed to do something a bit audacious.
“We brought Ronnie and Roxy (Mitchell) in when we needed to shake up the Vic, and then Kat and Alfie, who have a big story next year.
“They needed to lose money, they needed to be brought down again to tell stories to bring them up again.”
