Former EastEnders star Charlie Brooks is to guest star in C5’s crime drama, Suspects, which returns later this year for a second series.
Also appearing in the first two-part story of the series is Dominic Power, best known as Emmerdale villain Cameron Murray.
Charlie, who played evil Janine Butcher in EastEnders and also won I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! last year, plays a seemingly dutiful and respectable wife, Tanya Moxton, in the opener to the new series, which again stars Fay Ripley as murder cop, DI Martha Bellamy.
When the body of Tanya’s barrister husband, Jonathan, is found naked, tied up and covered in blood, it looks like a sex game gone very wrong, but DI Bellamy soon suspects it was actually a premeditated attack. Tanya comes under suspicion, as does Dominic’s character, a paranoid schizophrenic.
Other famous names set to guest star in the new series include Emmett J. Scanlan (The Fall, Hollyoaks), Ben Peel (The Fall), Gillian Kearney (Casualty, Brookside) and Carley Stenson (Hollyoaks).
