Danny Dyer will be appearing in his first EastEnders festive special on Christmas Day and he says soap fans are in for relentless drama.
“It’s the Christmas from hell,” says Danny, who plays The Queen Vic’s landlord Mick Carter. “It’s all lovely and then about nine o’clock it gets so dark with an hour of the Carter family unfolding and me having a complete breakdown. I loved it!”
The Carters are expected to be at the centre of this year’s Christmas episode and Mick could be hit by a series of bombshells, including the possible revelation that his partner Linda was raped by Dean.
“Viewers are dying for it to come out because what Dean did to Linda was horrific and he can’t get away with it – he deserves to be arrested. How dare he walk around and go into the pub knowing what he has done to that poor woman.”
Yet despite the misery which seems set to befall him, Danny insists he’s having the time of his life on EastEnders.
“It feels like I’ve been in it forever,” he says, during his appearance on Friday’s Graham Norton Show. “It’s been a nutty year and I’m loving it. It’s hard work, but I love it. To be fair, it could have been a car crash for me but it’s worked out beautifully. I’ve been an actor for 25 years and never won anything and now I’ve won two awards.”
Danny Dyer appears on The Graham Norton Show on BBC1 on Friday, December 19.
