EastEnders actress Gillian Wright has signed up to star in a new play in London.
The soap star – who announced last month she is quitting the BBC show after eight years playing Jean Slater – will star in Steven Berkoff’s Religion And Anarchy, part of a series of short plays about anti-Semitism.
Anthony Barclay, Lucy Hollis, Tom Lincoln and Clive Mendus will also star in the play, written and directed by Berkoff, Religion And Anarchy. It runs at Jermyn Street Theatre in London from September 24 to October 26.
Gillian’s final scenes in EastEnders will screen in October.
She said: “I would love Jean to return to the Square one day, so let’s hope this is not goodbye, but au revoir.”
