EastEnders character Heather Trott is set to reveal to the residents of Albert Square that she is pregnant, according to The Sun.

And the paper reports that laundrette worker Heather keeps quiet about the details of the pregnancy – even refusing to reveal who the father is. Even her best friend Shirley Carter, played by actress Linda Henry, is kept in the dark – setting up a ‘whodunnit’ style storyline.

Heather – played by actress Cheryl Fergison – will apparently be stunned to discover she is expecting since she had no plans to start a family.

“Heather’s love life has never really gone smoothly,” a show insider told the paper, “so when she finds out she is pregnant she is really shocked.”

“The question everyone wants answered is, ‘Who’s the daddy?’. However, Heather’s a bit shy about her love life and isn’t keen to let her meddling mates know who has done the deed.”

Heather has had a rocky love life in Walford, culminating in her having her marriage to Minty annulled after he revealed he did not fancy her.

However the show source said that despite her shock, Heather is thrilled about the pregnancy.

“Heather’s got a lot of love in her heart and she loves children. It might not be perfect and it might not be planned but she wants the baby and says it’s going to be the most loved tot in Walford.”

The storyline begins on BBC1 this spring.
