EastEnders will be on very late next Friday – and here’s why!

EastEnders will be on at 9.10pm on Friday 15th June

EastEnders will be shown at one of the latest times in its history a week on Friday (15th June) – and it’s not because things get too steamy between Mel Owen and Jack Branning!

The episode, which sees Mel decide to leave Walford, will be screened at 9.10pm rather than the usual Friday evening time of 8pm.

This is because the BBC has had to make a big space in its schedule to show the football World Cup clash between Portugal and Spain, with coverage starting at 6.20pm on BBC1.

Luckily, there’s no chance of extra time as it’s a group match so EastEnders fans are guaranteed that the episode will go out on time at 9.10pm.

However, with several weeks of World Cup action coming up it’s likely that there will be lots of schedule changes.

This is also very likely to affect when Coronation Street and Emmerdale are being shown as ITV will also be showing many of the World Cup games.

So, watch this space to make sure you don’t end up missing your favourite soap!
