EastEnders actor Scott Maslen says he believes the hung Parliament is a good thing for Britain as ultimately people will be more fairly represented.
The actor, who plays Jack Branning, told whatsontv.co.uk at Saturday’s British Soap Awards that he voted Labour, but he wasn’t unhappy about the outcome of Thursday’s election.
“I stayed up till 3.30 watching it, started at 10. Me and my wife were just laying there and she kept kicking me every time something happened and say: ‘Oh my god!’
“But it’s all closely contested and do you know what? It’s only good for the country and the people. As much as everybody’s nervous now… the bigger picture is there will be better things for us as a whole, and fairer and more representative.”
