EastEnders star Tony Clay thrilled to be returning to Walford as Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway – what does the future hold for him and Whitney?

Tony 'happy and excited' to be back

EastEnders star Tony Clay is heading back to Albert Square this Spring as Callum”Halfway” Highway.

The 26-year-old actor first arrived in Walford as charming but hapless Halfway in January after being caught up in the New Year’s Day heist and inadvertently shooting Mick.

Halfway was allowed to stay in The Vic by the Carters and he returned the favour by helping them to save their beloved pub. He also quickly had his eye on Whitney Carter (played by Shona McGarta), who despite her initial reservations fell for him only for their budding relationship to be interrupted by him being called back to duty by the army.

Tony, who’s also enjoyed roles in Foyle’s War and Lucky Man, declared: “I’m really happy and excited to be back on EastEnders and working with such a brilliant cast and crew. Halfway is such a lovely role to play and I’m really looking forward to exploring his story further and seeing where it takes us.”

Tony has already started filming ahead of his return in the coming weeks.

EastEnders continues on BBC1.
