EastEnders‘ Sean Slater exits the soap after plummeting into a frozen lake, it’s been revealed.
The Albert Square bad boy goes off the rails after discovering that he may not be the father of wife Roxy’s newborn baby, The Sun reports, and he’ll make a dramatic exit at Christmas.
Sean (Rob Kazinsky), runs away with the baby, leaving Roxy, played by Rita Simons, fraught with worry. He falls into the lake, but bosses at the BBC soap are keeping the final outcome of his departure a secret.
A show insider said: “Will Sean live or die, and what will happen to Roxy’s baby? Viewers are going to be hooked – and we’re not going to disappoint.”
Sean and Roxy had a wild affair, but tied the knot after Sean discovered Roxy was pregnant and he pledged his love for the unborn baby.
But Roxy had also slept with Jack Branning – played by Scott Maslen – who was the boyfriend of her sister Ronnie at the time. She was unsure who the baby’s real father was.
An EastEnders spokeswoman told the newspaper: “We don’t comment on storylines.”
