Natalie Cassidy has said she was proud of her former weight loss, but is comfortable with her figure the way it is now.
The 25-year-old former EastEnders star slimmed from a size 16 to a size eight in 2007 and released a fitness DVD, but then regained most of the weight.
She is now presenting a new show Natalie Cassidy’s Real Britain for BBC Three, in which she meets ordinary people to discuss issues such as fame and body image.
Natalie said: “I actually talk about my weight in the show which is quite nice because a little part of it is setting my record straight.
“The DVD was fantastic and I had such fun. I’ve proved to myself and proved to anyone who bought it that it’s possible to do.
“However, for me to keep up a regime of that, I just love going out and I love having nice dinners and I still exercise regularly, I just don’t do the amount I was doing before.”
Natalie insists she didn’t conform to ‘size zero’ pressure when she lost weight.
She said: “I didn’t feel under pressure at all, because if I did I would have stayed that size and I’m a working actress.
“I love what I do, I’m presenting, and my weight really isn’t the be-all and end-all to me. I’ve got better things to worry about to be honest.”
Natalie Cassidy’s Real Britain starts on BBC Three on Thursday, March 5 at 8pm.
