Nigel Harman has revealed he developed a “bromance” with Mount Pleasant co-star Dan Ryan on set that even led to them performing a karaoke duet together.
The former EastEnder has joined the third series of the successful comedy drama and formed a close bond with fellow actor Dan.
“It was hard being apart from him for six weeks [following filming],” Nigel joked.
The pair even performed a reportedly beautiful karaoke duet together on a night out, singing none other than Barbara Dixon and Elaine Paige’s infamous I Know Him So Well. “I was Paige because I’ve got a higher range,” Nigel explained.
The 40-year-old, who played heart-throb Dennis Rickman in EastEnders for nearly three years, stars in Mount Pleasant as Bradley, a shady character whose dodgy business dealings have forced him to leave London in a hurry.
He’s moved to Manchester with his wife Tanya (played by EastEnders actress Samantha Womack) and daughter Ella.
“He’s friendly and a good salesman but you don’t want to get on the wrong side of him,” Nigel said.
Bradley and Tanya are an interesting couple – on the outside they’re happy and outgoing, but there are hints of something a little darker just beneath the surface.
“Mount Pleasant isn’t very funny for them. Trust the southerners from EastEnders to come up and make it serious,” he joked.
The third series of Mount Pleasant starts on Sky Living on Wednesday, September 11.
