Ronnie and Jack’s kiss leads upstairs in EastEnders

EastEnders couple Ronnie Mitchell and Jack Branning are set to fall back into each other’s arms after sharing a passionate kiss.

Ronnie’s return to Albert Square, after serving two years in prison for kidnapping Kat and Alfie Moon’s baby son Tommy, will coincide with the exit of actor Scott Maslen, who plays her ex Jack.

The pair, who had a baby which died of sudden infant death syndrome, had remained close while Ronnie (played by Samantha Womack) was in jail, with Jack secretly visiting her there.

Despite making a pact that they would stay out of each other’s way when Ronnie arrived back in Walford, Jack finds his former girlfriend at nightclub R&R. And in a moment of passion, the dashing businessman tells her that he is still deeply in love with her, before they kiss.

Samantha previously told Inside Soap that she wanted to make her EastEnders comeback to give Scott a good send-off.

“I feel a huge loyalty to Scott and it wouldn’t have felt right for Jack to leave without Ronnie being there. We shot some of Jack’s final scenes and I was just sobbing uncontrollably!” she said.

The episode will be shown on EastEnders tonight (September 13).
