A host of famous faces, including former EastEnder Chris Parker and ex-Neighbours actor Blair McDonough, have been confirmed for the new reality show, Deadline.

Deadline sees the pair – along with Abi Titmuss, footballer Dean Holdsworth, Trigger Happy TV star Dom Joly, Yvette Fielding, athlete Iwan Thomas, Imogen Lloyd Webber, Lisa I’Anson and Ingrid Tarrant – doing whatever it takes to fill the pages of glossy weekly magazine Closer.

The stars will not only have to write the stories, forage for gossip, interview their peers and ‘out-pap’ the paparazzi, but also impress editor Janet Street-Porter.

There’ll be no hiding from the outspoken journalist, who jumped at the chance of appearing in the ITV2 series.

Street-Porter said: “I thought it was a really original idea. I’ve trained to be a midwife, a teacher and driven a taxi on reality TV shows before, but this is one I’m really qualified for because I’ve edited a national newspaper and a magazine.

“I really know what is required with this sort of magazine because I’ve been on both sides of the divide. I’ve been an editor, but I’ve also been ambushed by the paparazzi and had snotty things written about me in the press.”

Chris Parker, who played Spencer Moon in EastEnders, has since carved out a career as a TV presenter. Blair McDonough, better known as Neighbours’ Stuart Parker, quit the soap last year and has gone on to appear in shows such as The Match and Safari School.
