As the trial of her grandson's killers looms, Pam Coker wants answers from the mother of one of the thugs who beat Paul to death in a homophobic attack
The Cokers’ lives have fallen apart since their grandson Paul Coker was attacked and killed by homophobic yobs back in July in EastEnders.
Both Les, and Paul’s boyfriend Ben, have threatened to take violent revenge on the murderous gang. Now, as the trial nears, Pam reaches out to the mother of one of the gang in an attempt to find out why Paul died.
While others are livid at the idea of Pam meeting up with killer Simon’s mum, Diane, Kathy is there to support her
Earlier, Honey had been determined to prevent the meeting from going ahead
She had been hoping that Simon’s mum would not respond to Pam’s request for her to get in touch
But Pam is not to be swayed, and Kathy offers to go with her to the meeting
After a long wait, Simon’s mum turns up and introduces herself to Pam and Kathy
Pam and Diane are soon discussing what their respective sons were like as children
When Pam returns home, she gets a frosty reception from Ben and Les, who tells her she may have jeopardised the trial
