Next week, clutching her baby boy to her, a frightened Amy doesn’t know who to turn to for help
Earlier, Amy hides out in the cemetery from her social worker, but when she drops to her knees she’s not praying – she’s in labour!
All on her own, Amy gives birth to a baby boy – and she’s sure he’s not breathing
Scared and in a complete panic, Amy wraps the baby in her coat and leaves him in the village phone box…
Which is where a shocked Hazel finds him
Hazel thinks the baby’s dead, too, and phones for an ambulance
But the baby’s alive! He moves and he cries – and Hazel gets Zak, Lisa and Bob to help her
Amy has turned to David for help. She tells him about the baby and how she’s sure he was stillborn
David’s sympathetic, but doesn’t see how this can be kept a secret
Meanwhile, Amy cries when she sees an ambulance arrive and take away her baby. David goes outside and hears the baby’s alive!
Another ambulance turns up, this time for Amy. David has called in help for the distressed new mother
Amy’s scared, but David convinces her to go to hospital
And Pollard and Val rush to her side after David tells them what’s happened
They’re horrified when they hear what Amy has been through on her own and feel that they have let her down
Back in the village, Belle reveals to a shocked Lisa that she knows the baby is Amy’s
And she reveals to an even more shocked Zak that he’s a grandfather again – Cain is the baby’s father!
At the hospital, Amy’s struggling to stay calm, sure she’ll be arrested for abandoning her baby
But Val assures the worried girl that she has her full support
Pollard and Val are determined to care for Amy. But who will care for her baby? Watch Emmerdale on ITV1 from Monday, November 28
