'It's getting messy,' teases Natalie
A bombshell goes off in the heart of the Barton family next week in ITV soap Emmerdale. And it’s Moira Barton, played by Natalie J Robb, who lights the touch paper.
The farmer gets the shock of her life when she finds her son Matty Barton kissing his best friend Victoria. Normally that wouldn’t be such a big deal, of course, but Victoria is married to Matty’s brother Adam!
The controversial kiss isn’t actually the messiest part of the Barton saga, though – there’s more…
Moved by Victoria and Matty’s closer relationship, Moira’s stirred to make a shock confession.
Victoria and Matty are astonished when Moira tells them she pushed Emma Barton to her death last year – not Adam, who took the rap and went on the run.
“Matty’s been asking questions about Adam killing Emma as he doesn’t think it’s in his character,” says Natalie J Robb.
“She feels guilty and doesn’t want to lie any more about Emma. It’s getting messy.”
Though Moira tried to do the right thing by her innocent son by confessing, the police believed Adam’s story. When Emma’s sons Ross and Pete later found out that it was really Moira who had killed their mother, they made the decision not to shop their aunt for the sake of the family. But will Victoria and Matty share the Barton brothers’ compassion and loyalty?
With Adam having sacrificed his life and marriage to save his mother, is Moira about to finally suffer the consequences for Emma’s murder?
Emmerdale continues on ITV.
