Emmerdale: More to come from killer Cameron?

Emmerdale producer Kate Oates has revealed Cameron Murray’s time in the soap may not be over yet.

Cameron is set to be questioned by police over the murders he has committed after girlfriend Debbie Dingle gets him to confess while she is wearing a wire. But that doesn’t have to mean the end for Cameron.

Kate told Inside Soap magazine: “Who says things are ever completely over? I loved the storyline and Dominic Power’s portrayal of Cameron. He’s parallel with Carl King, who also killed a lot of people and yet lived this normal life.

“While there might be more mileage for Cameron, you have to think of the best story you can tell.

“It hasn’t been easy to think about the end because I’ve been enjoying the plot so much.”

And the producer revealed that Emmerdale‘s anniversary episode in October will see the feud between aunt and niece Chas and Debbie Dingle, after Chas’s fling with Cameron, come to a head.

Kate said: “I am frequently asked about this, and whether it is going to top the live episode.

“Chas and Debbie are highly involved and it should be exciting. There has been a lot of bad blood between their characters for a very long time because of what has happened with Cameron.

“It will take a big event to sort that out, and I promise you it’s going to be big.”

The producer added: “We’ve got a really exciting Christmas in store, with a fun story and a much darker one with some strong drama. “There could also be a face returning to the village, but I can’t tell you if it will be a welcome one or not…”
