Chelsea Halfpenny tells Soaplife that Amy’s determined to get close to her little boy in Emmerdale, whatever it takes…

Giving up her son, Kyle, for adoption was tough for Amy and since seeing him at the funeral of his adoptive parents, she can’t get the little boy out of her head. “She wanted him to have a mum and dad not be living with his gran,” Chelsea tells Soaplife. “Amy starts to lie and manipulate just to see Kyle.” And surely that can only lead to heartbreak…

How did Amy feel when she saw Kyle again?

“She has always been scared of meeting him, as she knows how much she has always loved him. She’s a bit gutted that she feels so maternal towards him.”

But she visits Kyle’s playgroup…

“Her plan is to see him and play with him. The first time she goes there, though, she’s cornered by a member of staff who sees she has no child with her, so she has to go home.”

She doesn’t give up, though…

“She borrows Jack from Andy and takes him to Kyle’s toddler group. She gets talking to his gran, Joanie, and lies and says she’s a nursery nurse looking after Jack for a friend.”

But Joanie recognises Amy from the funeral, doesn’t she?

“Yes. So Amy lies some more… She says she knew Kyle’s mum from the toddler group. She gets a fright at first, but she has had to lie all her life so it is second nature to her.”

And she gets to hold Kyle again…

“It’s an amazing feeling for Amy; she has waited for that for, like, two years. She’s with her son and she wants him to herself.”

Victoria warns her about playing this dangerous game. Does Amy listen?

“She doesn’t care. Victoria’s annoying her by talking sense… she wants to be told what she wants to hear. All she wants is to spend as much time as possible with Kyle.”
