Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter admits she would ‘absolutely love’ to star in a West End musical.
The Emmerdale star is currently enjoying her job playing feisty barmaid Chastity Dingle.
But the 29-year-old said: “I think I’m a bit old to become a singer now anyway but if anything ever happened with Emmerdale and they let me go I’d absolutely love to be in a West End musical.
“I’d be delighted to do anything really from Les Miserables and Chicago to Wicked or Dirty Dancing – I reckon it’d be great fun but only for about six months or so.”
The mum-of-one, who is engaged to football coach Rudi Coleano, performed on Soapstar Superstar earlier this year.
She says: “It’s the kind of thing that you look back on and wish you’d enjoyed more at the time but it really was exhausting.”
And she’s not sure she’d repeat the experience: “Never say never but that show was really hard work – we were literally in the studio from about seven in the morning until late that night so I was shattered and didn’t get to see much of Lola or Rudi.”
With her soap character Chastity such a hit with Emmerdale fans, she’s unlikely to be job-hunting anyway.
“People seem to like her because she’s really outspoken, she’s got a real gob on her, she never once holds back on saying what she’s thinking but she wears her heart on her sleeve.”
