Mark Charnock has revealed that Emmerdale‘s upcoming trash crash episode will “shake” fans of the soap.

Mark, who plays hapless Marlon Dingle in the ITV1 soap, teased the dramatic storyline, to be shown on Wednesday night, which sees a boys’ night out end in tragedy.

When they realise that Aaron (Danny Miller) and Jackson (Marc Silcock) have taken them to a gay bar, Marlon and Paddy (Dominic Brunt) decide to enjoy themselves.

But any fun is short-lived, particularly for viewers, said Mark.

“The episode is played out like a sweet-natured romcom for three quarters of it and in the last quarter it just gets flipped on its head.

“Hopefully, it’ll be a real jolt for the audience… it’s shocking!”
