Luke Tittensor has received a two-year suspended sentence for attacking a 16-year-old boy.

The ex-Emmerdale actor, 19, was sentenced to nine months in prison – suspended for two years – at Bolton Crown Court for the attack, which left his victim with a fractured jaw.

The actor – who played tearaway Daz Eden in the ITV1 soap – had admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm on his victim, who required corrective surgery following the incident in Rochdale, Lancs, in February of last year.

Luke, who has also appeared in Shameless, was ordered to undertake 200 hours of unpaid work, pay £1,100 in costs and give £1,000 compensation to the victim.

Sentencing, the judge said: “You are 19 years of age but ostensibly more mature than most 19-year-olds because you have been living in the public eye since you were a child.

“On the face of it you look like a responsible young man. You behaved like so many of the louts that we see before us in these courts.”

Earlier this month, ITV confirmed that the actor’s contract with Emmerdale had been terminated following his guilty plea.
