Ronnie takes drastic measures to stop Lawrence confessing on behalf of grandson Lachlan in Emmerdale!
The White family is in turmoil in Emmerdale when they hear that Lachlan has been badly beaten up in prison. Lawrence decides he needs to step in and save his grandson and tells Ronnie he’s going to take all the blame in court, so Lachlan can be released.
Ronnie is horrified that Lawrence could end up behind bars himself and decides he’s got to stop his other half from going anywhere near the trial.
Meanwhile, Chrissie is convinced that Cain is behind her son’s beatings and ends up making a desperate decision.
Ronnie locks Lawrence in to stop him from going to Lachlan's trial...
Earlier on the Whites are appalled to hear that Lachlan has been badly beaten up in prison.
Chrissie is certain Cain has something to do with her son's beating.
She goes round to see him at the garage.
The scared mum pleads with him to leave her son alone.
Cain agrees but only if she signs over her half of the garage to him. Chrissie hastily agrees to the deal. But is Cain really behind Lachlan's beatings or is someone else to blame?
Meanwhile, Lawrence is appalled to learn about his grandson's suffering. He tells Ronnie there's only one thing for it….
He's going to go to court and shoulder the entire blame for the shooting and the lies that have put Lachlan behind bars.
But Ronnie is horrified by the idea, well aware Lawrence will almost certainly be put in prison himself. He decides there's no way he's going to let Lawrence go to that court and locks him in a room at Home Farm!
With Lachlan's trial about to get underway, Chrissie is anxious when her father fails to show up.
Everyone waits nervously at the court, worried about what's happened to Lawrence.
Will Lachlan's grandfather manage to escape and get to the trial to say his piece, or is Lachlan facing a long prison sentence?
