The much-loved author is profiled in a film based on his own words
Every fan of Roald Dahl – and, frankly, who isn’t?! – will love this charming film, which explores how the author’s own life was as remarkable as his magical fiction. Based on Dahl’s letters, memoirs and stories, read by Robert Lindsay, it details the wartime exploits, childhood adventures and tragedies that inspired some of his most famous tales, and looks at his encounters with the likes of Walt Disney and Franklin D Roosevelt. There are contributions from his wife Liccy, daughter Lucy and Quentin Blake, his long-term illustrator, who has created some captivating new drawings for the film.
