Doctor Who gets in the festive spirit with a time-travelling adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novel A Christmas Carol. Amy (Karen Gillian) and Rory (Arthur Darvill) are in danger on their honeymoon as they become trapped on a space liner plummeting through fog on a collision course with the planet.
It seems the only way the Doctor (Matt Smith) can rescue them is to save the soul of lonely old miser Karzan Sardick (Michael Gambon). Only Karzan has the ability to lift the fog that is threatening both the newlyweds as well as thousands of others on Earth. But will the Doctor succeed in time?
Meanwhile, opera singer Katherine Jenkins stars as cryogenically fronzen heroine Abigail, who is defrosted every Christmas Eve, but in doing so she moves one step closer to dying.
The Christmas special also sees danger in the form of a giant shark that swims through space as well as a merry burst of carol singing, making it the most festive and fearless Doctor Who ever.
