Al’s day begins when he sees a strange man, Neil, lighting a fire at the side of The Mill, who insists Al’s been chosen to help save the planet. Neil scurries off but a bemused Al then finds two police officers in reception, who claim Neil’s on the run from a psychiatric hospital – he’s been hacking secure government sites and is wanted for terrorism and senior officer David thinks Al – who’s been questioned for dubious computer activity in the past – is involved!

Al then spots Neil hiding behind a tree and he mutters something about coming back for Al once he’s prepared the transfer facility before disappearing again. David’s colleague Sam tells Al that Neil has Schizotypal Personality Disorder, so Al does some research and concludes the disorder is a rational explanation for Neil’s strange beliefs and behaviour. Al goes for lunch at the Icon, where Neil is waiting for him and claims the aliens are waiting for their signal…

At that moment, David and Sam arrive and Neil flees as Al explains it’s not what it looks like! Al then finds Neil hiding out in the back of his car and agrees to go with him to the ‘transfer facility’ on the condition that, if Neil is wrong, he’ll get medical help. At an industrial unit next to a paint warehouse, Neil says they must light a fire, so aliens can see the signal from space. As Neil splashes petrol over a pile of wood, Al realises he needs to do something and secretly calls Naimh…

When the police eventually arrive, Al warns there’s petrol everywhere and that Neil’s holding a lighter. Al tries to talk him round but it’s Neil’s strange fascination with Niamh that saves the day. As the paramedics move in and Niamh and Al reassure Neil he’s in safe hands, suddenly the reality of what could have happened hits Al. Niamh takes his hand and suggests they get out of there…
