The series returns, celebrating 40 years on the air. Starting things off at Castle Howard in Yorkshire, Fiona Bruce and the team hear more priceless stories of family history, treasures found in charity shops, lofts and car-boot sales.

There are some fabulous objects including a letter from Charles Darwin, a sketch possibly by Renoir, and a trip down memory lane for expert Ronnie Archer Morgan.

We also look back at some of the highlights of the past four decades with David Battie, who has been with the show since the beginning.

And Fiona has a catch-up with the original presenter, Bruce Parker, with some great old footage of the early shows.
