Another day, another dilemma for world-weary Father Michael

Father Peter perfectly sums up his pal Father Michael’s life when he says: ‘It’s like buses, you can wait all your life for a decent dilemma to come along and then three arrive at the one time.’

This comes after poor Michael, surely the world’s most put-upon priest, finds himself facing yet another tough choice when he witnesses an altercation between stern Daniel Martin (Harlots’ Danny Sapani), brother of bereaved mum Helen, and Helen’s gay neighbour Karl McKenna (scene-stealing Versailles star Ned Dennehy).

Although Michael is being encouraged to make a statement to the police, he feels sorry for troubled Karl but is keen to spare Helen more agony. So can he persuade the two equally stubborn men to reconcile?
