Iain Dean loses his temper. Will he lose his job too?

Iain Dean’s recovery from depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is tested this week when an urgent news appeal reveals seven-year-old Frankie Harper has gone missing without a trace. Iain (Michael Stevenson) connected with Frankie in Casualty’s Paramedic Special when he answered a 999 call from the young girl, who was trapped in a house fire with her younger sister, Storm and drunk, unconscious Dad, Lee. After she was rescued, Iain visited Frankie at the ED and came to realise how his own childhood with alcoholic mum Kim had affected him.

This week when Iain learns Frankie’s missing, he can’t help breaking the rules about getting personally involved. Desperate to help, Iain visits her heartbroken mum Kailey.

After talking to Kailey, Iain figures out Frankie is at a disused play park, where she shared happy memories with her mum. By the time Iain finds Frankie and performs a daring rescue, however, she’s seriously injured and unconscious…

Injured Frankie remembers Iain. Can he help save her a second time?

At the ED while the medical team work to save Frankie, she tells Iain that she ran away after her violent dad Lee demanded access to see her. When Lee turns up and starts throwing his weight around, protective Iain loses his temper and pins Lee to a wall!

Shocked by his own reaction, Iain then disappears in order to cool off. Meanwhile Lee reports Iain to his boss, Jan Jenning!

Will Iain reach out to his friends for help?

David accidentally puts his foot in it with an unexpected special guest at the bursary presentation ceremony.

Grieving nurse Jacob Masters returns to work, determined to keep busy.

And guest stars Roy Hudd and Isla Blaire keep doctor Dylan Keogh on his toes, as warring neighbours Ken and Alice.

Ken is brought into Holby ED after suffering chest pains and collapsing. Prior to falling ill cantankerous Ken was arguing with his neighbour Alice Jones, who has put her house up for sale.

In a bid to stop her moving Ken, who’s been living next door to Alice for thirty years, dumps rubbish on his driveway to put off prospective buyers!

Ken and Alice’s constant bickering exasperates Dylan, but is there more to their mutual dislike than meets the eye? And is there a lesson in their relationship for some of our Casualty favourites?
