Simon Reeve’s latest travelogue takes him to Colombia, where he explores how a country famous for conflict and cocaine is slowly being transformed.

He begins on the tropical Rosario Islands, once a holiday hotspot for drug barons, before heading into the jungle to question a commander on atrocities committed by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).

He also visits rural Colombians hoping for help from the government to stop farming coca and grow legal crops.

With some truly upsetting accounts from victims of war, this might be the most compelling yet of Simon’s documentaries.
