Tanya Franks and Paterson Joseph both showed they had a natural bent for comedy in sitcoms Pulling and Peep Show, respectively. So, after seeing them in a number of dramatic roles, it’s good to see them at the helm of this comedy.
They play Tess and Toby, who face the usual highs and lows of parenting with their three kids – who happen to be adopted: stroppy teen Frankie, wannabe nun Alisha, and shy boy Charlie.
In this opener, Tess is in for a shock when she finds out why her son has been excluded from his classmates’ parties. Clue: It’s her. It may not be in the realm of Outnumbered, but it has potential to shine.
