Emily Beecham is sensational in the title role in this British indie movie drama.
She’s a 31-year-old chef who is sassy, cynical and more than a tad self-destructive. She lurches from one bar pick-up to the next, riles colleagues at the restaurant where she works and enjoys a prickly relationship with her mother (Geraldine James).
Then she witnesses a stabbing on her South London patch and is sent reeling still further.
The film’s not perfect, but watch it for Beecham’s performance – and if you have a Fleabag-shaped hole in your life.
