The gang’s back for series seven of the entertaining drama about three old dogs – former detectives Brian Lane, Jack Halford and Gerry Standing (Alun Armstrong, James Bolam and Dennis Waterman) – brought out of retirement to help Detective Superintendent Sandra Pullman (Amanda Redman) investigate unsolved crimes from the past.

Sandra and the boys think they’re being messed about when self-professed psychic Sebastian Carter (Paul Rhys) tells client Vicky Anderson that her dead father is insisting his death wasn’t what it seemed. It appeared that wealthy Douglas Anderson died of a heart attack two years ago when he caught a burglar in his home. Sandra wants to expose Sebastian as a fake, but he stuns her with some informed comments about Tom, the brother she discovered at the end of the last series. Spooky or what?

Brian, Jack and Gerry aren’t spooked. They think psychic Sebastian’s a conman, but are forced to dig into Anderson’s death…and find the burglary wasn’t random – someone was after millions of pounds that were nicked in a fraud committed by Anderson’s friend John Plummer, who died in prison. Anderson became legal guardian of Plummer’s daughter, Penny – because he had a guilty conscience? And what does Plummer’s former cellmate know? Suddenly psychic Sebastian’s not the only suspicious character involved in this case…
