Return of the comedy Derry Girls set against the Troubles in 1990s Northern Ireland

It’s business as usual as the energetic, joyful and wickedly funny comedy about a group of teenage friends in Derry, Northern Ireland, during the 1990s returns.

Catholic girls Orla (Louisa Harland), Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), Clare (Nicola Coughlan), Michelle (Jamie-Lee O’Donnell), and their friend James (Dylan Llewellyn), are back squabbling among themselves
as they set off for an outdoors pursuits weekend with Protestant boys, part of a ‘friends across the barricade’ initiative.

DERRY GIRLS SERIES 2

(l-r) Orla, Clare, Erin, James and Michelle

Naturally, it doesn’t go to plan.

In a hilarious scene, neither side can think
of one thing they have in common and embarrassment and misunderstandings quickly ensue, leading to some great
eye-rolling and wonderful asides from Siobhan McSweeney as the marvellously deadpan Sister Michael.
