Karen Hollins is left fearing the worst on Doctors when new foster child Martha Rose suddenly has a severe allergic reaction while in her care...
Karen Hollins (played by Jan Pearson) and her husband Rob (Chris Walker) have welcomed a new foster child, Martha Rose (Lilian Hardy) into their home on Doctors (1:45pm on BBC One, see our TV Guide for full listings).
However, Karen remains worried over the fact Martha has a severe nut allergy. So when Martha asks if they can go out for lunch, something her protective mum never let her do, Karen is reluctant at first.
Luckily, Karen’s surgery co-worker, Al Haskey (Ian Midlane), also the new co-owner of The Icon, agrees to talk to the chef about making the bar a nut-free zone for the day.
But still, disaster strikes when Martha suddenly has an allergic reaction and struggles to breath…
WHO is to blame? And why is there a bag of peanuts amongst Martha’s belongings?
Meanwhile, Zara Carmichael (Elisabeth Dermot Walsh) hears from boyfriend Adam Regan (Edward MacLiam) how he is very worried about his twin brother, Gareth.
Not only has Gareth lost his job and been kicked-out by his wife, but now there is an investigation into medical negligence looming…
Speaking of Gareth, Zara’s colleague and friend Emma Reid (Dido Miles) is plenty happy now that Adam and Gareth have both moved into her B&B set-up.
But Zara starts to have her doubts about the domestic set-up when she spots Emma openly flirting with Gareth. Will Zara try and shutdown Emma’s attempt to find a new romance?
Elsewhere, policeman Rob deals with an elderly man Ted Nelson (Pete Ivatts) who is behaving like a lovestruck teenager and has gone missing from his carehome.
And Ted’s wife, Mary (Tina Gray) isn’t at all happy when she finds out Ted may have taken a fancy to a female resident at another care home!
Doctors continues weekdays at 1:45pm on BBC One
