Ian Beale is on a mission to talk to business partner Masood Ahmed about the restaurant, as Kathy tries to explain what’s happened in Ian’s absence.
They’re interrupted by Bobby, horrified to see he has a bruised face. Thinking Bobby has taken a beating from a vengeful Max Branning, Ian calls the police.
A mortified Bobby refuses to tell them what happened. After Max denies all knowledge of an attack, Bobby makes a confession… Ian’s day gets even worse when he finds out that now that Masood’s left town, his new partner in the restaurant is Max!
Max Branning is still thinking about Mel Owen after their kiss the night before and he invites her for a drink. Mel keeps quiet about the fact it’s the day of her son Hunter Owen’s sentencing an instead lets Max down gently.
He won’t be put off so easily, however, and suggests they go for drinks to talk about business. When Mel later sees Jack Branning with the officer who arrested Hunter she makes a mysterious phone call. What is Mel up to?
Jay Mitchell talks to Billy Mitchell about his girlfriend Ruby Allen, saying he’s not sure they’re well matched. A delighted Billy sees there might be an opportunity for his besotted granddaughter Lola Pearce and he tells her that she may have a chance with Jay after all.
Lola is buoyed by the news and she heads to the beauty salon to ask if there are any jobs going. She’s pleasantly surprised when co-owner Denise Fox gives her a trial on the spot!
