Since the court case which saw DI Bails’ get sent down for rape, his victim Charity Dingle has been on a downer. She’s full of self-loathing and anger which has been dredged up by reliving the horror and hurt the dodgy copper put her through when she was a young teenager.

She’s self-medicating, of course, and has chosen alcohol as her poison. But her family are tiring of her mess.

On Monday, Charity (Emma Atkins) pushes Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell) a step too far when she heads off in his van to get more booze, knocking into his beloved mutt Monty on her way. The Dingles concern over Monty’s injury does nothing to jolt Charity Dingle out of it. In fact, the incident makes her more angry than ever.

At the B&B, Dr Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) charms Diane (Elizabeth Estensen), angling to get some dirt on what’s going on with Bernice and Daz Spencer whose relationship, he’s heard, is on the rocks. Let’s hope Daz (Mark Jordon) doesn’t overhear the doc’s chat!

Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) is in the doldrums over Manpreet who seems to be having tons of fun hanging out with his daughter Priya (Fiona Wade).

Emmerdale continues tomorrow evening at 7pm.
