Ross packs his bags and says his goodbyes as he prepares to leave the village behind. But can he bring himself to depart without girlfriend Rebecca?
There’s rarely been a quiet moment for Ross Barton since he turned up in the village five years ago.
He’s loved and lost a load of ladies, become a dad to baby Moses, had countless punch-ups and been the victim of a shock acid attack…and that’s just for starters!
But after finally confronting acid attacker Simon McManus last month, Ross is ready to leave the drama of the village behind for pastures new. He had hoped he’d be hitting the road with his girlfriend Rebecca. But now she’s caught in a squabble with one-time lover Robert Sugden over custody over their baby son, Seb, it looks like Ross will be going it alone.
However, as Ross packs his bags and says goodbye to his brother Pete and family relative Moira, can Ross really bring himself to go without Rebecca?
Elsewhere in the village, Laurel Thomas is fast losing patience with her partner Bob Hope, who seems to be in no hurry to find a new job.
It has fallen to Laurel to support the whole family through her job at the local factory, while Bob continues to be full of excuses that he wants to take advantage of his break from employment to spend more time with his twin children Cathy and Heath as well as Laurel’s son Arthur.
Unsure what to do about Bob, Laurel turns to guidance from village vicar Harriet Finch. What advice will Harriet give Laurel?
